Experiment and have fun with it! Body care is one of the most important aspects in life and choosing a product with safe ingredients sometimes becomes a big challenge. Learning how to make your own self care product is another level of ART – in my opinion! So, don’t give up! You will be a pro in No Time! Let’s talk about one ingredient – Baking Soda – in self care products. Is Baking Soda toxic or safe? There is only one type of Baking Soda – that is with its original name “Sodium Bicarbonate”. For cleaning, beauty care and in baking, same Sodium Bicarbonate is used. Baking soda can be dangerous if taken INTERNALLY in large doses. It may cause vomiting or diarrhea. So, in this post I don’t suggest anyone taking baking soda internally. Please talk to your healthcare professional about the correct dosages. Using it topically is different and this ingredient has so much benefits. Let’s be honest, there are many myths that were spread in the internet how baking soda is toxic and dangerous! But, is it really?! One key ingredient in a deodorant is Baking Soda – that blocks odor, complexion improver, natural exfoliant and a skin softener. DON”T SKIP Baking Soda ingredient in your deodorants! This is your KEY ingredient. Directions: You can use a stainless steel pot or a double broiler – works safe either way. Melt together these ingredients until well incorporated: 1/4 cups of bees wax; 1/4 cups coconut oil (or you can choose your favorite seed oil); 1/4 cups of Shea butter; 1/4 cups baking soda; 3 tbsp arrow root powder; Turn off heat and then add 40 drops of lavender essential oil + 20 drops of lemon essential oil (optional, you can add your favorite scents of your choice) Once mixed, quickly poor the mixture into an empty deodorant container.
